Located in the heart of Pandamaran, 158 HONG BA Port Klang is a delightful Asian restaurant that specializes in Taiwanese-style braised pork dishes, a true gem for food lovers seeking authentic flavors. This unpretentious eatery offers a culinary experience that focuses squarely on the quality and depth of its food rather than flashy decor. If you’re drawn to rich, tender meats and comforting rice dishes, this spot is an absolute must-try.
At the core of 158 HONG BA’s appeal is their signature Hong Ba rice, which features succulent pork braised to the point where it simply melts in your mouth. The fatty cuts come highly recommended, boasting a buttery richness that creates a symphony of savory and slightly sweet notes on the palate. For those who prefer leaner options, the meat remains flavorful though slightly drier, as noted by some customers.
The restaurant also excels with other classic items such as the braised pork knuckle, which offers a perfect harmony between the soft, fatty meat and tender textures of the bone-in cuts. Chicken feet here are prepared with a delicate herbal undertone and soft, melt-in-your-mouth juiciness that enhances the dining experience. Other dishes like their pepper spice soup, complete with tofu and black fungus, bring an evocative nostalgia reminiscent of cherished home-cooked meals.
Despite the simple, no-frills setting—characterized by basic wooden tables and a modest, cozy atmosphere—the focus remains on delivering hearty, well-balanced flavors that fill you with comfort. The ambiance is calm and relaxed, making it an excellent choice for quiet weekday lunches or dinners. However, regulars advise avoiding weekends if possible, as the place becomes bustling, with queues forming due to its growing popularity.
Service here is straightforward and efficient, with food arriving promptly, usually within ten minutes, allowing you to dive into your meal without delay. While the surroundings lean more toward traditional village-style dining and could benefit from some sprucing up, plentiful roadside parking nearby makes it convenient to stop by.
If you're a fan of genuine Taiwanese braised delicacies that prioritize authentic taste over modern flair, 158 HONG BA Port Klang offers a warming and deeply satisfying experience. It’s a place where the food speaks volumes—rich, tender, and cooked with a balance that respects the essence of each ingredient. Whether sharing a meal with friends or indulging in a quiet feast for one, the hearty portions and savory comfort food here will leave a lasting impression.

The Hong Ba is a must-try—I personally prefer the fatty cut, as the lean meat was a bit too dry for me. The Bak Kut Teh was just okay—very plain and simple, which might be good for those who don’t like strong flavors. Service was fine, and the atmosphere was calm and not too busy.

158 Hong Ba in Port Klang is a hidden gem for those who love Taiwanese-style braised pork dishes. Their signature Hong Ba rice comes with tender, flavorful pork that’s been braised until it melts in your mouth, paired perfectly with fragrant rice and side dishes. Portions are hearty, and the flavors are well-balanced — savory, slightly sweet, and comforting. The menu also offers a good variety of side dishes and drinks to complete the meal. The restaurant itself is clean, cozy, and welcoming, with friendly service and fair prices. A great spot for a satisfying meal, especially if you’re craving rich, homestyle braised pork.

Great food but ambience is quite bad, ranging from rickety tables and chairs to hot and sticky surroundings. The place could do with a general sprucing up. Service was ok we got our food within 10 minutes. Parking was plentiful by the roadside. Alert - do not park on the opposite side of the road as it’s a school and your car could be trapped during peak hours when hundreds of parents would be waiting by the road side to pick up their kids.

Frills free new village styled eating and sitting arrangement, this place puts all the focus on the food rather than the decor. What matters most is the quality and taste of the food presented and served. And yes, does it deliver in spades. A note of caution however is to avoid coming here during weekends if you're not into long queue times for a table. However coming here on a weekday just after the peak breakfast period is probably your best bet for an empty table. True to word, service was prompt and fast. And oh boy, the braised trotter was really tender, succulent and full of flavour. You can opt to have your protein with yam rice as an option too. Throw in a platter of blanched vegetables and your brunch/lunch is complete. Highly recommended and oh so satisfying.

"The braised pork belly (single portion) came with some small rib parts. The fatty meat was quite melt-in-your-mouth. The overall flavor was rich but not overly salty or sweet — very well balanced and delicious. The chicken feet were soft and tender, with a light herbal taste. I highly recommend giving this place a try."

Their Hong Ba is really tender and marinated. The portion serves 4 pax so it is recommended for group. Their braised chicken feet is nice too even though my preference is the thicker one. You can consider trying their pepper spice soup with tofu, black fungus and unique intestines in a button mushroom shape. Reminds me of my late grandmother’s soup. Since it was a long drive, we ordered their bakuteh soup which is just average but if you insist to try, their dry bakuteh is a better choice as it is flavourful. Go early as this area is near to a Chinese school.
